Zoology 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week:  To learn the basics about reptiles - their body plan, specializations, and characteristics.  We will also reach the level of mastery over frog/toad vocalizations through the completion of a quiz at the end of this week over those vocalizations.

Female reproductive system; discuss major parts of the system and begin working on cycles. Complete a worksheet over the female reproductive system.

Objective this week:  To learn about the components of wetlands and complete a water quality study using Vernier probes

Introduction to wetlands; their categories, facts and importance of wetlands.  Complete an online assignment over wetlands.

7th Grade Life Science 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week: To demonstrate what you've learned over ecosystem services and health through the completion of a group project.

Finish up the ecosystem services project; put ideas down onto dry erase boards/poster paper.  Present to the class your findings.

Wednesday
Begin homeostasis/balance with organs in the body.  Complete a worksheet over this topic.

Objective this week: To create a solution for an environmental issue that is negatively affecting biodiversity in ecosystems.  We will start Monday off with a video over ecosystems and their importance.

Watch a video over coral reef ecosystems

Tuesday
Explain ecosystem services and "society costs" to maintain ecosystems.  Discuss the project design; explain how students will create a solution to a biodiversity issue in the world.
