Objective this week:  To reach the level of mastery over the legislative acts that shaped the conservation movement across North America through the completion of two assessments.

Objective this week:  To understand the basics of inheritance and how we acquire traits from previous generations.  There will be a quiz at the end of the week.

Mendel and his pea plant experiments.  Discuss dominant vs recessive traits, alleles, and genes.

Tuesday
Genotype vs phenotype; begin practicing punnett squares.  Develop five practice punnett squares plus a separate answer key for points.  Due tomorrow.

Begin discussing skin, and layers of the epidermis.  Also discuss accessory structures.

Wednesday
Epidermal layers and accessory structures - build the layers and discuss.  This is a model-building activity for points.

Thursday
Finish building the layers and accessory structures from yesterday and present to classmates/Mr. Hadachek

Hair and nails - anatomy, structure, function, etc. 

7th Grade Science 9/24 - 9/28

Objective this week:  Understand animal systems as they compare to plant systems, and be able to identify at least five different body systems and how they interact together.

Objective this week:  To specifically engineer a scribble bot that will stay within a 30 cm wide track and travel a 50 cm distance, with quiz points being awarded for the distance traveled.

Workbook pages assigned in class, due tomorrow.

Tuesday
Scribble bot phase 2 - engineer your scribble bot so it will travel 50cm in a straight line without going out of  bounds.  You will get three attempts to receive these points.  These points will be QUIZ-WEIGHTED points.

Critical thinking and problem solving, plus four examples of potential energy in a boat, and four examples of kinetic energy in a boat.  This will be for points.

Do # 1-14 on pages 23 - 30 in your workbook.  This is due for points tomorrow.  Remember if you don't have your workbook at home, you can access it with your iPad and write out the answers to the question on paper.
