Objective this week:  To understand different wildlife management techniques, their benefits, drawbacks, & applications.

Wednesday
Worksheet due; Radio collaring animals, video of radio collaring, and worksheet over radio collaring

Thursday
Hunting as a management tool; discussing both sides of the hunting debate today.

Friday
Review management tools, quiz over radio collaring and rocket netting.

Anatomy & Physiology 11/27 - 11/30

Objectives this week:  To reach the level of mastery over muscle contraction mechanics through the completion of a multimedia project: to introduce the different ways muscles gain their energy in the contraction/exercise process.

Tuesday
Film the multimedia project today.

Wednesday
Watch multimedia project; begin explaining energy pathways needed by the muscles so they can function during exercise.

Thursday & Friday
Muscle energy pathways; associated vocab; quiz on Friday over muscle energy pathways.

7th Grade Science 11/27 - 11/30

Objective this week:  Understand the difference between our time and geologic time; understand how to use radioactive dating to age fossils.

Tuesday
Discussion of time; video over carbon dating and isotopes.

Wednesday
Carbon dating, examples of it, calculations, and worksheet for points. 

Thursday
Geologic time breakdowns, explanations, major organisms in each.  Worksheet for points.

Friday
Geologic time breakdowns continued; finish worksheets if needed, and take quiz over carbon dating.

Zoology 11/27 -11/30

Objective this week:  To reach the level of mastery over arthropods and demonstrate this through the completion of a unit exam at the end of the week, with a  score of 80% or better.

6th Grade Science 11/27 - 11/30

Objective this week:  To reach the level of mastery over wave properties; there will be a quiz at the end of the week to demonstrate this mastery.

Tuesday
Review wave equations, begin discussing properties of sound waves.  Critical thinking activity over wave types.

Wednesday
Continue discussion of sound waves; explain decibel levels, sound intensity, and associated vocab.  Discuss the Metallica Moderator project.

Thursday & Friday
Metallica Moderator construction STEM project.  (also, there will be a quiz today over wave properties)

Biology 11/27 - 11/30

Objective this week:  To understand how your DNA and RNA help to assemble proteins and keep your body healthy.

Tuesday
Review DNA structure; begin discussing how DNA copies itself; Create a model using the Kinex kits demonstrating how DNA molecules get copied.

Wednesday
Sophomores absent

Thurssday
Begin discussing protein building and structures.  Explain transcription and translation.  Complete an exit interview for points.

Friday
Demonstrate knowledge gained from transcription/translation through the construction of a model demonstrating such.
