Environmental Science 8/26 - 8/30

Objective this week:  To discuss the road to modern conservation in the world today, and be able to score at least an 80% over the topic on a quiz toward the end of the week.

Conservation efforts and the history of National Parks.  Assignment over conservation.

Friday
In-class assignment over National Parks - due by end of the period.  Also, there will be a quiz today.

Anatomy & Physiology 8/26 - 8/30

Objectives this week:  To reach the level of mastery with a quiz over the feedback loop system (80% performance objective), and begin looking at body cavities in a dissected rat.

Finish the stress video; review the feedback loop.  Question set for points.

Tuesday
Body cavity lab.  Complete a lab handout for points.  Due Thursday

Objective this week:  To understand how microscopes have helped us learn about cells, and to score at least an 80% on a quiz at the end of this week.

Microscope lab day 1 - understanding and learning about microscopes with a handout over microscopes for points.

Objective this week:  To understand how carbon cycles throughout living things in the ecosystem and demonstrate levels of mastery on this by scoring at least an 80% on a quiz at the end of this week.

Cellular respiration basics and discussing the steps.  Exit ticket for points.

Objective this week: To understand the importance of insects to the ecosystem and begin creating an insect collection with specific species involved.

The importance of insects to the ecosystem and begin discussing insect anatomy.  Insect assignment on Google Classroom

Tuesday
Discuss insect collection specifics and begin collecting.

Thursday
Natural history  assignment in class; write seven things in class that stood out to you or meant some thing to you over the natural resources note set .  We made it through the Sutter's Mill/gold rush portion of the note set.

Anatomy & Physiology 8/19 - 8/23

Objective this week:  To understand how the body keeps itself within strict limitations with a feedback loop, and to begin mastery of directional terms.

Monday
Directional term introduction and practice these terms.  We will work these terms in nearly every day of the semester from this point forward so we must master them .... eventually!  :)

Assignment over directional terms; practice directional terms..

Wednesday - Friday
Feedback loops and pathways.   Friday assignment over feedback loops.

6th Grade Science 8/19 - 8/23

Objective:  To learn about systems and the parts of a functioning system through the build of a scribble bot robot.

Semester pre-test; discuss systems and their components

Tuesday
Finish pre-test and set up tech in class (online textbook, etc)

Wednesday
Systems - components and importance.  There will be a paper assignment given today over systems.

Thursday
Build & test scribble bots

Friday
Do workbook pages 4-9 in class.

Objective: To understand life properties, and to learn more about the role of cells in life.
