Review the lipid bi-layer; introduce major cell parts, including the cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes, rough/smooth endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus.


Tuesday
For ten points, create a graphic organizer to keep track of cell parts.  Then use your cell phone video recorder to record a tutorial as a study guide.


Wednesday
Quiz - cell organelles.  There will be a 100/85 performance objective on this quiz.  In other words, 100% of the students should score at least an 85% on the quiz.  Watch cell video(s).


Thursday
Differentiated instruction via music .... Introduction to Dr. Lodge McCammon's FIZZ.   This activity will be worth 20 points.  There will be a test over cells next Wednesday.

Discuss organization of living things; demonstrate how to make keys and Venn diagrams over life forms.  Students will make their own Venn diagrams.

Tuesday
Venn diagrams due today.  Finish them.  Discuss cladograms, and have students make cladograms for points.  Discuss Edmodo.  Hand out permission slips.

Wednesday
Begin microscope activity; use a microscope to look at basic slides.  Learn how to use microscopes correctly.  Lab handout will be due at end of period.

Thursday
Pond water lab using microscopes.  Students will look at pond water and use the microscopes to observe small creatures in the water.  Lab handout due.
