Review the information in the genetics video.  Review alleles, dominant vs recessive traits.  The lecture video over introductory genetics is due today and will be graded.  Discuss and review sexual reproduction.  Explain genotype vs phenotype.

Class activity - cloning.

Thursday
Quiz over Mendel's pea plant experiment.  Review yesterday's activity.  Assign punnett square video lecture due by class, Tuesday 11/6 for a grade.  Begin discussing DNA in form and sequence. Distinguish between DNA and RNA.

Friday
The lecture video over Mendel's Laws is due today.  This will be graded.  Build DNA molecules in class with the model kits.

Bone study set #2 ... make a video tutorial over ten structures of your choice.  This will be a graded tutorial and will be put on Edmodo for a review whenever you need it .... :)

Continue discussing the differences between mitosis and meiosis.  Students will participate in differentiated learning over cell division differences.  Differentiated groups include:  Poster making, concept map activity/graphic organizers, a video tutorial over the differences plus visuals, and rap lyric construction over mitosis vs meiosis

Tuesday
Finish differentiated activities over cell division; prepare for Thursday's cell division quiz.

  • Continue cell division and its importance.  Students will learn about phases of mitosis
