Objective this week: To understand how energy flows through ecosystems from one trophic level to another, and be able to relate that to your life. Assessment will be determined through critical thinking exercises and a quiz at the end of the week.

Begin discussing ecosystem basics. Explain where ecosystems fit in to the biosphere and the world. Then talk about limiting factors and how they work in the ecosystem. Discuss differences between density and carrying capacity.
