Zoology 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week:  To learn the basics about reptiles - their body plan, specializations, and characteristics.  We will also reach the level of mastery over frog/toad vocalizations through the completion of a quiz at the end of this week over those vocalizations.

Wednesday
Vocalization practice; review Monday & Tuesday's work and begin identification of Kansas snakes.

Objective this week:  To learn the functional parts of the male and female reproductive systems and complete work assigned over those topics.

Monday
Male reproductive system continued; begin discussing female reproductive system.  Complete a worksheet over the male reproductive system.



Tuesday
Female reproductive system; discuss major parts of the system and begin working on cycles. Complete a worksheet over the female reproductive system.



Wednesday
Discuss differences between ovarian and menstrual cycles

Thursday
Cycles continued; complete a worksheet over these cycles.

Environmental Science 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week:  To learn about the components of wetlands and complete a water quality study using Vernier probes

Monday
Introduction to wetlands; their categories, facts and importance of wetlands.  Complete an online assignment over wetlands.

Water quality testing

Wetland diversity and conservation issues

Water quality testing

7th Grade Life Science 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week: To demonstrate what you've learned over ecosystem services and health through the completion of a group project.

Monday
Video; ecosystem restorations. 

Tuesday
Finish up the ecosystem services project; put ideas down onto dry erase boards/poster paper.  Present to the class your findings.

Wednesday
Begin homeostasis/balance with organs in the body.  Complete a worksheet over this topic.

Thursday
Homeostasis/balance notes.

6th Grade Science 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week:  To learn and understand wave interactions & complete an interactive study guide over these concepts.

Monday
Interactive study guide activity for wave properties

Tuesday
Begin discussing wave interactions and complete a worksheet

Biology 3/26 - 3/29

Objective this week:  To understand the differences between bacteria and viruses through the completion of a project, lecture notes, and web-based research.

Begin discussing bacteria; basic bacteria facts, bacteria growth, and bacteria classification

Complete a research assignment online over bacteria

Objective this week:  To learn calls/sounds of frogs and toads in Kansas, and to complete an exam over the amphibian unit at the end of the week to demonstrate mastery over content.

Monday
Frog/toad vocalizations; discuss giant salamanders.  Complete a worksheet over giant salamanders.

Tuesday
Frog/toad vocalizations; review giant salamanders

Wednesday
Frog/toad vocalizations; review basic amphibian characteristics, and frog lifecycle.  Complete a review graphic organizer activity for points.

Thursday
Open review for tomorrow's test.

Friday
Amphibian test today.
